Most “Game of Thrones” fans will soon be disappointed with the series towards a long winter night post the final episode of season 7
But for fans who tune in mainly for the performances of the GOT stars, there is good news – you are going to be seeing more of them!
Until the next season arrives, many of the main “Game of Thrones” stars will be seen on other screens. Some will venture to more TV projects, others are hitched to massive franchises, while a few will take up highly anticipated indie film titles.
So if you can’t wait until 2018, here’s a quick look at what some of the GOT stars have on the horizon.
Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark)
After first making an appearance as Jean Grey in “X-Men: Apocalypse,” Turner is all set to star in “X-Men: Dark Phoenix.”
Sophie also joins Jared Leto and Jack Huston in Berlin, I Love You – a film based on 10 interconnected stories taking place in the German capital.
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark)
While Turner is at the front of the next big X-Men story, Williams is presumably part of the next wave. She’s set to play Wolfsbane in “X-Men: a girl struggling to reconcile her religious beliefs with her power to turn into a wolf.(One can only hope that in her canine form, she goes by Nymeria.)
Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth)
The grand actress we know and love as Brienne of Tarth probably has the most highly-awaited film on this list — Star Wars: Episode VIII aka Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Gwendoline will don her metal-plated armor to deliver her role as First Order stormtrooper boss Captain Phasma.
Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister)
Peter has been busy, with at least five movies on the cards. Peter is sticking close to the HBO family, starring as actor Hervé Villechaize in the upcoming biopic “My Dinner with Hervé.” He’ll also have a part in Martin McDonagh’s upcoming “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”
Probably, his most interesting project is Rememory – a sci-fi themed movie about a widow of a brilliant professor stumbling upon an invention of his that records and plays back a person’s memory.
Emilia Clarke
Yes, she’s set for (presumably) a significant part in the upcoming Han Solo spinoff flick. But don’t sleep on “Above Suspicion,” a romance/thriller hybrid based on a true story from director Philip Noyce. Clarke plays a woman caught up in a marital affair who gradually becomes an informant in a landmark FBI investigation.
Kit Harington (Jon Snow)
He’ll not only star in BBC’s “Gunpowder,” about the infamous Guy Fawkes government overthrow plot, but he’s also on board as an executive producer.
We will also see him playing a titular character in The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, a drama about a disgraced Hollywood actor; and he’ll co-star with Natalie Portman, Jessica Chastain, and Susan Sarandon.
